Program


Kuytsa-Power provides financial support and mentorship to young indigenous women from low-income families or remote communities who face barriers to accessing higher education. It awards scholarships to support women’s and men’s academic and personal development, such as tutoring, mentoring, and leadership training. It also includes a language program in which they learn English while perfecting their Kichwa and Spanish language skills.

Objectives

  • Strengthen the inclusive participation of indigenous youth in governance and democracy.

  • Promote the economic empowerment of indigenous women and men.

  • Develop the capacity of women and men to distinguish options, make decisions in order to achieve gender equality.
